Hey Everyone, >From the time of this posting, eveyrone has at least 2 weeks, some people have 3. That means good files.... no excuses. I recommend that people who can start on their file ASAP, that means this weekend if possible, early next week if not. This is important because it gives you the opportunity to talk to us about the assignments and we can help give you ideas. Not everyone has been assigned something. People who haven't been assigned will receive post-GDS assignments, most likely due on November 15th with the pre-Glenbrooks assignments. Public Housing Sweeps Neg - Liza Coast Guard Neg - Ben Ban Insanity Defense Neg - Bo International modelling DA against HIV exclusion - Noah Line Item Veto CP (the negative itself) - Aaron Kritik of Western Medicine - Lilly Dryzek statism aff - Alyssa Global warming - Emil Post-election updates/internals - Alec/Persis**** Light Political Capital book - Ted Performance Good - Lenny Colleyville med recs case - Kevin Due Dates: Ted's assignment is due pre-Newburgh, that means Thursday November 9th. Alec and Persis' assignment is also pre-Newburgh, but it is due Friday November 10th early in the morning so it can be copied for people going to Newburgh (see rationale for this due date below). I think the team should have a discussion on how this is going to occur. All other assignments are due pre-Glenbrooks, Wednesdy November 15th. **** This assignment is very unique. The election is on Tuesday November 7th, according to Kevin. That means the Wednesday and Thursday papers will have analysis for clinton internals. The problem is, we don't want the assignment to be just for Wednesday's papers, that's not enough. Thus, we're giving you guys another day. Also, THE NATURE OF THIS ASSIGNMENT IS THAT IT REQUIRES LOTS OF WORK WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHTS BUT NOTHING BEFORE THEN!!!! Do not claim that you did not have time on Wednesday and Thursday.... plan now to have open schedules so you can do all the necessary work. We expect a good, comprehensive file. Make sure you've searched all the major newspapers, websites, and magazines thoroughly. Also, I'd recommend looking at Tuesday's newspapers..... perhaps they'll have predictive cards or cards that say that "no matter who the pres. is he'll need to do X to get his policies done." Tomer
